Understanding the G/S Ratio
The Gold-to-Silver Ratio measures how many ounces of silver it takes to buy one single ounce of gold. It is one of the oldest and most reliable metrics used by institutional metals traders.
How to Trade the Ratio (Mean Reversion)
- When the Ratio is High (e.g., 80+): Silver is considered historically undervalued compared to Gold. Smart money typically buys Silver.
- When the Ratio is Low (e.g., < 45): Silver is considered overvalued compared to Gold. Traders will often swap their silver holdings for gold to preserve wealth.
Portfolio Strategy
Ratios strip away the illusion of fiat currency inflation and show you the true purchasing power of an asset relative to another. Use these charts to identify systemic macroeconomic shifts.
